In Part 1, we walked through setting up the MantisBase C++ development package and creating a basic CMake project.
Now that the environment is ready, it’s time to build something with it.
In this video, we go from a basic MantisBase integration to extending the server from C++.
What’s in the video
We cover:
A quick introduction to MantisBase for anyone new to the project
What changed in MantisBase v0.4 and why we reworked the foundations
Setting up the C++ development package
Creating custom HTTP routes
Accessing the database from your application
Extending MantisBase from your own C++ code
A few ideas for where the C++ integration could go next
The first part of the video builds on the setup covered in the previous post. The second half gets into the more interesting part: using MantisBase as a library and building your own functionality around it.

If you want to follow along, start with Part 1: MantisBase C++ Dev Packages Setup Guide, then come back here once your development environment is ready.
The v0.4 changes are also covered in more detail in MantisBase v0.4: Reworking the Foundations.
MantisBase is still evolving, but the direction is becoming clearer: a backend you can run standalone, or embed and extend inside your own C++ application.
